Graduates

Hope Moore, McConnellsburg, recently traveled to Chicago with her mother, Rose, to accept her Bachelor of Science in nutrition science from Kaplan University.

On Saturday, August 6, 2011, Moore received summa cum laude honors with a grade point average of 3.98. She also received recognition from the Golden Key Honor Society and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Eleven hundred of the more than 7,000 graduates from the online university were in attendance to receive their degrees and hear from the Honorable Alexis M. Herman former secretary of labor during commencement ceremonies.

Moore and her mother also spent time exploring the Chicago Sky Deck and were welcomed home to a surprise celebration at their family farm.

Moore also holds a B.A. in psychology and a M.S. in administration of criminal justice from Shippensburg University. She works locally with the Fulton County Nutrition Awareness Program, an affiliate of the Fulton County Food Basket Inc. She is currently a Declared Candidate for the Ministry of Deacon in the United Methodist Church and plans to pursue a Master of Divinity in the near future.
