I guess we can consider our area lucky as Irene moved on up the East Coast over the weekend.

Some of the schools have a week in as they started last week.

Guests at the Knobsville United

Methodist Church on Sunday were Cathy Cutchall’s brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Darl Hixon and family. We were glad to welcome them as guests.

Harvey Berkstresser spent Saturday with his son, Shawn, and family at Slippery Rock.

Happy birthday wishes to Tristan Gelvin, September 2; Kathryn Gordon, September 5; Carla Mae Strait, September 8; and Tammy Berkstresser, September 11.

Glad to report Pastor Bill is doing well recuperating from shoulder surgery.

A line of miniature cars travelled through Hustontown one day last week going toward Harrisonville.

Household Hint: closets and dressers – To keep closets smelling fresh, try the following: Make sure clothes are clean before putting away, leave the door slightly ajar to allow air to circulate, put an opened box of soda to absorb odors and hang a pomander ball or sweet smelling sachet in the closet.
