The third annual Fight Like A Girl Cancer benefit luncheon will be held October 1, at Calvary Baptist Church Life Center. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. and program starts at 11 a.m. A catered lunch will be served. Silent auction items and raffles will be available to raise funds for two local women with their struggles. This year’s recipients are Kim Kline Mowen and Lina Hoffman. Tickets are $15 each or $105 for a table (8 seats, one free). Door tickets will be limited. The Fulton County Hunter/Trapper Education course will be held Thursday, September 8, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday, September 10, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Fulton County Pistol and Rifle Club. From Mc- Connellsburg take Rt. 522 north about one mile. Turn right onto McGovern’s Lane and proceed approximately 2/10 mile to club. Preregistration is required by clicking yes on PGC Web site at www.pgc.state.pa.us. Click on Education/Hunter Education class schedule. Class limit is 65 students. Bring a bag lunch Saturday. AARP Safe Driving course is a classroom refresher course for safe driving and will be offered at Hustontown Senior Center September 28 and 29. Classes are from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Both days of classes are required to be eligible for the three-year auto insurance discount. No testing involved. Payment is required before classes begin and checks can be made payable to AARP. Cost is $12 for AARP members and $14 for nonmembers. To preregister call Peggy at 717-987-3770 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Lunch is available by making reservations at the same number.
