Secretary To Prison for Stealing $389K
ERIE, Pa. ( AP) – A woman will spend six to 18 years in prison for stealing nearly $389,000 to feed her gambling habit while secretary of a northwestern Pennsylvania township.
Sixty-three-year-old Nancy Brown was sentenced Tuesday. At her sentencing, Brown says she was a good person who was “so out of control’’ when she began writing checks to herself from the bank account of tiny, rural West Springfield Township, from 2002 to 2010.
