A 98th birthday party was held at Great Cove Club on Saturday evening for Alice Branche with family and friends attending.

Vacationing at the Smoky Mountains last week were Myreta Elvey, Lynn Lanehart and Barbara Weller.

Jane and Paul MacDonald recently hosted a reception to honor the marriage of their daughter, Lisa, to Scott Harmon in Polson, Mon., in July. The party took place at the home of Barbara and Wayne MacDonald in Cito. A lot of old high school and college friends of Lisa’s attended. Lisa and Scott are both on the faculty of Salish Kootenai College, a confederated Indian tribes college in Montana.

A graduation/going-tocollege get-together for Gab McGarvey was held at the home of her parents, Tim and Deb McGarvey, on Friday evening with family members and friends attending. Gab will start her freshman year at Cal-U, near Pittsburgh, this week. Folks enjoyed watching the spectacular fireworks set off by Phantom Fireworks at the fair. A lot of good food and a great time were had by all.

Dayton and Kim Tweedy observed their 27th wedding anniversary on August 21.

Dave and Jan Hoover observed their 41st wedding anniversary on August 22.

Bushy and Nancy Kerlin returned home from a threeweek vacation with their daughter, Angela, and family in Craig, Colo.

Abageal McGarvey, 15, recently attended Camp Chihopi. It is the camp for Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital transplant recipients in Cheat Lake, Morgantown, W.Va.

Sid and Lisa McConahy celebrated their second wedding anniversary on August 19.

A third birthday party was held for Kendall Earley on Saturday night in the home of her parents, Ryan and Nichole Earley. She has an older brother, Bronson.

A school retirees picnic was held on Monday at Mc- Connellsburg Lions Club Park.

North End Garden Club held its annual picnic on Tuesday at Hann’s Log Cabin on Strawberry Ridge.

Sympathy goes out to the family of Ruth Ellen Bivens, who passed away over the weekend.
