Pig Roast at Ebenezer United Methodist

A pig roast will be held at the Ebenezer United Methodist Church pavilion on Saturday, August 27, beginning at 4:00 p.m. with music by the Country Cousins, meal at 5:00 p.m., and at 6:00 p.m. more music by the Country Cousins. Everyone is welcome. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish. Roast pig, drinks and place settings will be provided. Seating is available, but feel free to bring lawn chairs. A free-will offering will be taken for the musicians. The church is located at 226 Ebenezer Church Road, Needmore, PA 17238. More information may be obtained by calling 717-573-2616. Fight Like A Girl Cancer Luncheon

The third annual Fight Like A Girl Cancer benefit luncheon will be held October 1, at Calvary Baptist Church Life Center. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. and program starts at 11 a.m. A catered lunch will be served. Silent auction items and raffles will be available to raise funds for two local women with their struggles. This year’s recipients are Kim Kline Mowen and Lina Hoffman. Tickets are $15 each or $80 for a table (6 seats). Door tickets will be limited. An ice cream festival will be held at Center United Methodist community building Saturday, August 27, at 4 p.m. Served will be turkey or ham dinners with mashed potatoes, filling, green beans or corn, applesauce or coleslaw, tea or punch. Also available will be sandwiches, soup, cake, pie, soda and ice cream. All are welcome.

Festival Fairview United Methodist Church will hold an ice cream festival September 10. The church is located four miles north of Hustontown on North Hess Road. Homemade ice cream, soups, sandwiches, french fries and desserts will be for sale. The festival begins at 4 p.m. All are welcome.
