Tuesday, August 16: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. – family backpack adventure. Is your family looking for something to do this afternoon? Why not go on an adventure? Stop by the nature center to pick up a themed, loaner backpack with activities and materials to spend a couple fun hours together in the outdoors.

Thursday, August 18: 11a.m.: Butterfilies Preschool age children and up. Meet at the nature center; noon to 3 p.m. – family backpack adventure.

Saturday, August 20: 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.: Come to the nature center to do a bear craft and learn a few things about these big bruins; 7:30 p.m. – How Many Bears Can Live in the Forest? Join in a game to see just how many bears fit in one area. Meet at the amphitheater; 8:15 p.m.: PA’s Black Bears – Come to the amphitheater to see amazing footage of black bear research done by PA Game Commission Gary Alt.

Sunday, August 21: 10 a.m. to noon - Fishing for Backyard Bass. Come out to the beach area between 10 a.m. and and noon for some fishing practice in the backyard. Learn how to cast a fishing pole and then practice as you cast at targets and try to catch backyard bass. Great activity for all ages, but children must be accompanied by an adult; 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. – nature photography scavenger hunt. Don’t just come out to the park; explore it with a nature photography scavenger hunt. Learn the basics of using a camera for nature photography and then have fun exploring the park. A limited number of park cameras are available for the program or bring your own. Those who borrow a park camera will be able to take their pictures home on a disk. Cameras will be available on a firstcome basis. Meet at the amphitheater.
