Charges of public drunkeness have been filed against Michael Richard Fortney, 30, of McConnellsburg, after an incident that took place at the Peckwood Tavern, Lincoln Way East, in downtown McConnellsburg at 1:55 a.m. August 6. State police report that Fortney, who is alleged to have been under the influence of alcohol, was escorted out of the tavern by the owner after the accused began causing problems and became an annoynance. Police maintain they observed the accused under the influence of alcohol. Charges were filed through District Magesterial Judge Wendy Mellott.
