Harriet W. Jeffreys
She was born July 24, 1927, in Greenfield, Mass., to Harry and Alleene (Bond) Wetherbe. She was married to James Robert Jeffreys on September 2, 1961. He preceded her in death on October 3, 1999.
She had been a registered nurse at Lincoln Park Nursing Home in Lincoln Park, N.J. She had also been a missionary nurse for three years in Nigeria, Africa.
She had attended Pequannock Valley Baptist Church in Pompton Plains, N. J., and Chambersburg Mennonite Church after moving to this area.
She is survived by her seven children: Clark E. Jeffreys of Burnt Cabins; Mark E. (husband of Sarah) Jeffreys of Moab, Utah; Alleene E. (wife of Charles) Dean of McConnellsburg; John E. Jeffreys of Allentown, Pa.; Kimberly E. (wife of Patrick) Dillon of Lake Hiawatha, N.J.; James E. Jeffreys of Paterson, N.J.; Alice E. (wife of Anthony) DeNino of Lake Hopatcong, N.J.; and a foster son, Richard Hill of Boston, Mass.; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a sister, Elizabeth Wetherbe of Orlando, Fla.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Peter E. Jeffreys, and nine brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 13, 2011, at Chambersburg Mennonite Church. Rev. Jerry Roth will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
