William K. Miller

Shade Gap, 82

William Karrol Miller, 82, Shade Gap, died at 12:43 p.m., Sunday, July 24, 2011, at his home in Dublin Township.

Born December 9, 1928, in Everett, he was a son fo the late Joseph and Jessie (Lake) Miller. He was united in marriage to the former Josephine Ruth Price August 21, 1949. She preceded him in death July 7, 2000.

He is survived by two daughters: Deborah S. Kling and husband Gerald C., Burnt Cabins, and Carol Ann Lane and husband Thomas, Orbisonia; six grandchildren: Anita Clark, Shade Gap; Alicia Bennett, Woodbine, Md.; Jessica Kling, Burnt Cabins; Jereanna Scott, Shirleysburg; William Lane, Orbisonia; and Preston Lane, Blairs Mills; and six great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother: Christine Kearns, Shade Gap; Louemma Lutrell, Winchester, Va.; and Eugene Miller, Shade Gap.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters: Frank Miller, Pauline Cunningham, Ordean Miller, Mary Miller and Robert Miller.

He was a member of Fair Ridge Assembly of God Church, Shade Gap.

A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the United States Army.

He retired form Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, in 1964. After his retirement, he was an agent for the Erie Insurance Co.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 27, at Fair Ridge Assembly of God Church, Shade Gap. Rev. Karey Schaffer officiated. Burial was in Fair Ridge Cemetery.
