M. LaVerne Barnett
She was born March 21, 1926, in Taylor Townehip, the daughter of the late George N. and Nora E. Barnett.
She lived her early life in Fulton County. She never married.
She graduated from Hustontown High School in 1944. She worked at Letterkenny Army Depot as a checker, at Angle’s Grocery Store in New Franklin, at Landis Tool Co. as a timekeeper, at Waynesboro Manufacturing (Morris Contract), at Hamilton Luggage and at Waynesboro Day Care.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Waynesboro.
She especially enjoyed local baseball games, Penn State football and children of all temperament.
She is survived by one sister, Grace W. Shotts of Waterfall, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters: Kenneth C. Barnett, Muriel C. Henry and Lois M. Angle.
A graveside service was held at Hustontown Cemetery. Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at 1 p.m.
