Everyone is hoping there will be some rain showers approaching to help eliminate some of this drought.

Congratulations to Emily Mumma and Scott Cromer, who were married on Saturday, July 23.

It was good to have a nice letter from Kevin and Marla Rusack in Arkansas, formerly from here. They were missionaries in Kairos but now have moved back to Arkansas. Kevin will be starting his new work at a college and pastor at New Heights Church in Arkansas.

Happy birthday wishes to Betty Malot, August 7, and to Vivian Covert, August 12, and to the triplet boys, Jack, Joel and Jona Peck on August 18.

Pastor Bill and Joan Kuhn returned back after a couple weeks vactaion.

Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will sponsor a food auction on Saturday, August 20, beginning at 2 p. m. until finished. The kitchen opens at noon. Vendor is Mike Sullivan. You won’t want to miss this one.

Hustontown Fire Co. will sponsor an open stage on Saturday, August 27, beginning at 6 p.m. The kitchen opens at 5 p.m. Everyone is invited to come and share their talent or just come and enjoy the talent of others. Remember we are a nonsmoking, air-conditioned facility and admission is free. We hope to see you and all your friends. Come out and enjoy the evening.

Kindred Spirits will sponsor a fundraiser auction for Faye Lynch, who is battling cancer, on Saturday, August 20, at 6 p.m. Covered dish and dinner at 5 p.m. You may drop off gently used or new items to be donated and baked goods to be sold at Green Hill Sewing Club afer 11 a.m. on the day of the sale. Max McQuade will be the auctioneer for this worthy cause. Everyone’s support will be appreciated.

Household Hint: Clean windows without streaks. Mix 1/2 cup of cornstarch into about two quarts of warm water. Apply with a sponge, then wipe dry with absorbent cloth or old towel. It’s great for car windows and also bathroom mirrors too.
