It was World of Outlaw weekend at Williams Grove Speedway and when it was all said and done, it was a split between the Outlaws and the Posse as Greg Hodnett won Friday night and Jason Meyers won Saturday night.
Friday, Hodnett took the lead with five laps completed and dominated to score his sixth win in his last 12 starts against the Outlaws at the Grove. It was also the first Outlaw win for car-owner John Trone. He defeated Steve Kinser, Daryn Pittman, Sammy Swindell and Fred Rahmer.
Meyers dominated Saturday’s Summer Nationals for his first-ever win at Williams Grove as he led all 30 laps in the win over Stevie Smith, Donny Schatz, Greg Hodnett (up from 15th) and Sammy Swindell.
Jason Sides won the Morgan Cup on Friday over Stevie Smith, Jason Meyers, Lance Dewease and Greg Hodnett. The sterling silver cup will spend the next year at the Outlaw headquarters for bragging rights between the Posse and Outlaws.
Pat Cannon picked up his fifth 25-lap 358 Sprint car win Saturday at Selinsgrove Speedway and ninth overall on the season as he defeated Phil Walter, Logan Schuchart, Nate Snyder and Jason Shultz.
After becoming Selinsgrove’s all time Late Model winner last week, Jeff Rine came back for career win #71 in the Late Model Summer Championship, scoring the win over Scott Haus, Chad Davis, Steve Campbell and Brett Schadel.
