Assisting Motorist’s Vehicle Struck

A 16-year- old juvenile pulled onto the berm of Interstate 70 to assist another driver involved in a motor vehicle accident when the teen’s Toyota 4 Runner was struck.

According to state police, the teen stopped in Brush Creek Township to render aid on Thursday, July 21. Due to debris on the roadway from a previous crash, a westbound Pontiac G6 swerved at 9:27 p.m. and crashed into the 4 Runner and a guiderail. Driver of the vehicle Benjamin Smetana of Dover, Del., was uninjured as was his passenger, Jenea Smetana. Both were wearing seat belts.
