4 Found Dead In Cabin Fre In PA State Forest
PETERSBURG, Pa. (AP) – The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources says a state employee was one of four people who died in a cabin fire in a state forest in Huntingdon County.
The fire broke out early Friday the Rothrock State Forest in central Pennsylvania, just south of State College.
Department spokesman Terry Brady tells The Associated Press that the cabin was a state-owned building and that the victim who worked for the Bureau of Forestry was staying there. Brady says it’s not unusual for forestry workers to rent such buildings.
WJAC-TV reports the fire was so intense that recovering and identifying the bodies, as well as establishing the cause, will be a long process.
The Huntingdon County Coroner’s Office and state police at Huntingdon are investigating.
