Flea Circus To Appear In Hancock
The Hancock Arts Council announced this week that it will sponsor Professor Mike’s Amazing Flea Circus at the Hancock Performing Arts Center at Town Hall, 126 W. High Street, Hancock, Md., on Sunday, August 7, beginning at 3 p.m.
In anticipation of rave reviews after its premier performance at the Morgan County Fair on July 31, the Springs Chamber Ensemble will, by popular demand, repeat its triumph at Hancock’s newly renovated Performing Arts Center at Town Hall with an even bigger show.
Visitors are encouraged to leave their dogs and cats at home and enjoy the exciting variety of talent found in a traditional flea circus. Featured performances and acts include the Springs Chamber Ensemble musical group, under the direction of maestro Linda Whitesitt. The ensemble will accompany a “small” circus with a program of lively music that will have the whole place hopping. The circus acts will include a high-wire display, feats of agility and strength, a flea being shot from a cannon, an exotic snake charmer and much, much more.
Admission is “flea” to the public (no charge), but donations will be accepted to help the Arts Council bring future programs in all areas of the arts to Hancock and the surrounding communities.
