Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Jack Horton of Three Springs, who recently celebrated their 47th anniversary with a trip to Alaska.

Get well wishes to Almeda Nead, who is recovering from Lyme’s disease.

Walnut Grove Church of God held its annual Sunday school picnic at Cowans Gap State Park on Sunday. After a worship service, everyone enjoyed lots of food and games for all ages in the afternoon.

Brian, Emily and Micah Ramsey visited with Roger and Pat Ramsey at the picnic.

Some of the Maddensville folks seen enjoying the Clear Ridge festival on Thursday evening were Hull and Joan Holtry, Buzz and Bea Covert, George and Heather Locke, Gordon and Donna Locke, Terri Grissinger, Art Brown and Roger and Pat Ramsey.

Last week, Ruth Grisville singer, along with Tamsen, Carson and Samantha Anders, were guests of John and Carol Puskarich in Rhode Island.

Visiting recently with the Steve and Karen Grissinger family were James Locke, Ramon Martin and Tom and Mamie Streightiff.

A sportsmen’s outreach will be held at Immanuel Bible Church on August 20 with speakers, prizes and good food. Special speaker for the event will be author and humorist, Joey Hancock. The Wissmann Family will present a concert following the sportsmen’s outreach program. Admission is free and everyone is welcome to attend.

Folks from Immanuel Bible Church will be hosting a large yard sale and food stand on August 13 beginning at 8 a.m. We hope to see you there.
