CCA Opens Office Here

To provide range of services locally
SPECIAL TO THE NEWS

The Center for Community Action (CCA) announced late last week it has expanded services to Fulton County in hopes of providing services to low-income residents.

Now serving the three-county area of Fulton, Bedford and Huntingdon counties, CCA “provides a range of services and activities that have a measurable impact, and potentially a major impact, on the causes of poverty, where poverty is a particularly acute problem.” Among the programs that will be offered locally are employment, advancement and retention network services, weatherization, home repair, GED instruction and testing.

To help implement their programs, CCA receives funding through the Federal Emergency Management Association, PA Department of Agriculture, PA Department of Community and Economic Development, PA Department of Education, PA Department of Public Welfare, U.S. Department of Agriculture and U.S. Department of Energy.

CCA’s newest office is located at 292 Buchanan Trail, Suite 106, McConnellsburg. Additional CCA offices can be found at 195 Drive In Lane, Everett, and at 207 Fifth Street, Huntingdon.

Local CCA office hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Fridays by appointment. Additional information regarding CCA can be obtained online by visiting their Web Site at www.center forcommunityaction.org.
