Deaths: Mrs. Ester

Layton of Bethel

Township; Mrs. Ellen Robinson of near Welsh Run; Mrs. Rhoda Sipes Keefer of Chambersburg.

William L. Byers, for 10 years forester of the Buchanan District with residence in McConnellsburg, was notified on Wednesday of his promotion to forester of the Mont Alto District. Byers graduated in 1906 with the first class to be graduated from the State Forestry Academy at Mont Alto.

On July 22, a large crowd of friends and relatives gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Meade Black near Waterfall to celebrate Mrs. Black’s 44th birthday.

Candidates who have announced thus far for the coming primary election are Ray W. Weller for treasurer; Chas. W. Mellott for prothonotary; R.B. Regi for treasurer; Roy M.. Sipes for sheriff; Bland Deshong for auditor; Harvey I. Raker for prothonotary; and David Bishop, F.M. Taylor and Geo. F.B. Hill, all for commissioner.

Henry Wilson of Clear Ridge is very ill with erysipelas.
