Danielle McGarvey Wagner of Seattle, Wash., visited on Sunday with relatives here, including her 98-plusyear old great-grandmother, Ruth Souders, at a luncheon.

A surprise 90th birthday party was held for Lee “Dude’’ Richards on Sunday at son, Ronnie Richards’ farm.

Tobias McGarvey celebrated his fifth birthday with four of his class buddies on Saturday with a pool party at his home.

The McConnellsburg churches presented “The Homecoming” musical by Lynn Hodges and John E. Coates on Friday and Saturday nights in the Cito Methodist Church. It was very enjoyable, with a good showing both nights. A free spaghetti dinner was also served.

The descendents of William and Minnie Edwards held their 46th annual reunion on Saturday at Cowans Gap Park.

Raymond and Judy Aller will celebrate their 44th wedding anniversary on July 22.

The Needmore Fire Co. held a chicken barbecue on Sunday.

Our area is in a very dry spell now and temperatures are to reach 100 degrees this week. If you can, stay indoors to prevent heat stroke and other related health problems.

Sympathy is extended to the family of Jean Paylor of Hagerstown, who passed away over the weekend. She was the wife of Carl Paylor.

Kate and Brantley Gamble hosted a surprise 80th birthday party for Helen Overly, Saturday, July 9. More than 100 guests attended, including friends and relatives from Florida, Canada, New York, Reading, Pa., western Pa. and many friends from Fulton, Franklin and Huntingdon counties.
