Fulton House Museum Open Fridays
Four new displays are featured at the Fulton House Museum, which is open free to visitors every Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. until Labor Day. Displays include memorabilia from the Crystal Spring Camp Meeting in recognition of its 125th anniversary; items from previous anniversaries of the founding of McConnellsburg; more than 100 postcards in albums and on display sheets; and a special Stunkard long rifle on loan from John Gracey. Pie Baking Contest
A peach pie baking contest will be held Saturday, August 20. It will be held in conjunction with the first annual Peach Festival, sponsored by Trinity United Church of Christ. Cash prizes will be awarded. To receive an entry form e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. or call 717-369-4804. The event will take place at Fort Loudon Community Grounds. Arts and crafts vendors are also needed with no charge to participate. Scenic Fulton County Calendars Local businesses who would like to order 2012 calendars for their customers are asked to contact the Fulton County Historical Society by August 1. A number of photographers submitted 50 of their best shots, all taken in Fulton County, and 12 are being selected for the calendar. All photos will be printed in full color similar to the 2011 calendar. Prices are $150 for the first 100 with discount pricing for larger quantities.
