Bingo For Books

Bingo for Books will be held Thursday, July 21, at 6:30 p.m., at Needmore Firehall. Teen Night

McConnellsburg library will be holding its monthly teen night on Friday, July 29, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wii, board games, music, video, books and food for all 13- to 19-year-olds. Free, but donations of food and drinks are appreciated. Open Stage

Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will sponsor an open stage on Saturday, July 23, at 6 p.m. Kitchen opens at 5 p.m. with regular menu. Barbecue chicken with baked beans, macaroni salad, applesauce and roll will be available for sale at 3 p.m. Come share talent or just come and enjoy the talent of others. Admission is free. Motorcycle Ride

A benefit motorcycle ride will be held July 24. Sign-in starts at 10 a.m. Leave the American Legion in McConnellsburg at noon. Entry fee is $20 per bike. All proceeds benefit Liberty Crouse. More information may be obtained by calling John Rasp at 485-3731 or 658-6547. CF AYSO Soccer Signups

Soccer sign-ups will be held July 25-26-27 at Tri-State Community Health Center from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Children must be four years of age by August 1. Registration fee is $35. A copy of the child’s birth certificate will be required at time of registration. No late or incomplete registrations will be accepted. Summer Golf Tournament

The 15th annual Fulton County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism summer golf tournament will be held Friday, August 19, 2011, at Great Cove Golf and Recreation Club, 366 Riggs Drive, McConnellsburg. Entry deadline is August 12, 2011. More information may be obtained by calling 485-4064. Wells Tannery Homecoming/Parade

Fire company equipment, antique cars, marching groups, floats, decorated only bikes and ATVs are welcome to participate in the Wells Tannery homecoming on July 30. No paper invitations were mailed. All are welcome. For more info and placement, call 685-3399. The homecoming is July 30 this year. Parade starts at 11 a.m. Music starts at noon. Chicken barbecue, hot roast beef sandwiches, homemade pies and other food served all day. Horseshoe tournament and car show will be held. Raffle drawing will be made at 9 p.m. All are welcome Shade Gap Picnic

The 128th annual Shade Gap Picnic will be held at Harpers Memorial Park, intersection of routes 522, 641 and 35, July 31 thru August 6 with rides and entertainment each evening. More information may be obtained by calling 814-259-3252 or at www.shadegapfire.com. Little League Tournaments

Fulton County Little League Tournaments will be held the following weeks: July 25- 30 (9- and 10-year-old tournament). The games will begin at 6 p.m. every evening, with one game played under the lights on the Ray Koontz Memorial Field at Lions Community Park. Come out and watch these young players from around the tri-state area compete. This is a fun time for the whole family. MHS Baseball Practice

McConnellsburg Junior High and Varsity baseball players are recommended to attend open field practice very Sunday beginning at 4 p.m. at Lions Club Park. Incoming and current players should attend. Youth Field Day will be held on Saturday, September 17, beginning at 8 a.m., at Fulton County Pistol & Rifle Club, McConnellsburg. The event is held to increase awareness in youths of the outdoors, hunting and wildlife conservation. Participants must be between 10 and 16. Applications can be obtained at Keller’s Country Store, Dott Village Store and Buchanan Trail Sportsters located in the rear of M&M Electronics. The sixth annual Ben K-5K will be held Saturday, July 30, beginning at 8 a.m. at Center United Methodist Church, Waterfall. Registration is free until July 8. Registrations received after that date will include a $5 fee. Applications are available at Newman’s Market, Fulton County News, Edgewood Pro Hardware and Keller's Country Store. Fulton Co. A special program with guest speaker David Mosemann will be held Thursday, July 28, at 2:00 p.m. at the Needmore branch of Tower Bank. This free program is especially for ages 8 and older. Adults are also welcome to attend.
