At Gettysburg, Trading Cards Offer History, Reward

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (AP) – With the 150th anniversary of the start of Civil War taking place and the 148th of the Battle of Gettysburg, too, there’s a lot of history to be had and one way to provide that to children is the use of trading cards.

Katie Lawhon of the Gettysburg National Military Park told WHTM-TV that the NPS is offering the cards to younger visitors as a reward for attending programs with park rangers at other Civil War battlefields across the country.

The cards feature historic photos of generals, leaders, soldiers and the sites of battles, she said, adding that they can be collected and traded for rewards.
