Local businesses who would like to order 2012 calendars for their customers are asked to contact the Fulton County Historical Society by August 1. A number of photographers submitted 50 of their best shots, all taken in Fulton County, and 12 are being selected for the calendar. All photos will be printed in full color similar to the 2011 calendar. Prices are $150 for the first 100 with discount pricing for larger quantities. For more information, contact Glenn Cordell at 717-485-3172, Ken Keebaugh at 717-987-4217 or Gene Leese at 485-3162. Calendars will be scheduled to arrive in time for the Fall Folk Festival.

Historical Society Cookbook Recipes Needed

As a fundraising project for jail restoration, the Fulton County Historical Society is preparing a local cookbook. Anyone is invited to submit your most popular family recipes. There is no charge to enter recipes and you may later purchase cookbooks for $10 as gifts – a nice way to share favorite foods with friends and the larger Fulton County community. In order to have the finished cookbook ready for the annual Fulton Fall Folk Festival in October, all recipes need to be submitted by July 15. Submit recipes in handwriting and mail them to the Fulton County Historical Society, Box 115, McConnellsburg, PA 17233 or send recipes on e-mail to director@fultonhistory.org, in which case they won’t need to be retyped with a chance of error.
