Pa. Official: 11 Sheep Likely Killed By Lightning
POTTSTOWN, Pa. (AP) – A township official says it was likely lightning that killed 11 sheep found dead on a southeastern Pennsylvania farm.
Ray Kolb, chairman of the East Coventry Township Board of Supervisors, says a woman found the dead sheep while walking on Wednesday morning.
Kolb tells The Mercury of Pottstown that the sheep were found lying in a circle and there was evidence of a lightning strike at the scene. A storm had come through the area at about the same time that night.
The farm is about 30 miles northwest of Philadelphia.
