We have had great weather for the July 4 holiday even though it was a little warm. Some folks are going on vacation now.

Visitors in the Kate Berkstresser home on Sunday afternoon were Martin Gordon, John Goshorn and Harold Berkstresser. Visitors in the same home on Monday were Harold Berkstresser, John Goshorn and also Mr. and Mrs. William Fegley and granddaughter from Ohio. John will be leaving for Afghanistan soon.

Visitors with Harvey and Pat Berkstersser on Monday were John and Heidi Peck and children, Brooke Sheeder, Beverly St. Clair and Kate Berkstresser.

Guest speaker at Knobsville United Methodist Church on July 10 will be Rev. Bruce Maxwell, chaplain for Trucker/Travel Ministry in Breezewood.

Fairview United Methodist Church will have a festival on Saturday, July 16, at 4 p.m.

Olivia Mills is serving as a camp counselor in Ligonier.

Center United Methodist Church will have an ice cream festival on Saturday, July 9 at 4 p.m.

Hope everyone had a nice Fourth of July holiday weekend.

Household hint: To make an ice ball for your party punch bowl, fill a round balloon with water and freeze it. Remove the balloon before using.
