Beta Sigma Phi News
The sisters of Xi Eta Lambda, McConnellsburg chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, were quite active over the spring months. Activities in April included ushering at the MHS musical and donating to the MHS musical. Sisters also attended the Founders Day banquet hosted by the Warfordsburg Iota Lambda at Hancock. In May, the sisters hosted a mother/ daughter banquet at the Fort Family Restaurant, using the theme of “kitchen utensils.”
In June, the sisters donated a basket of useful items to the FCMC Long- Term Care residents and also gave awards at both Mc- Connellsburg and Forbes Road High School graduations. The first meeting was the chapter’s birthday party, and the sisters exchanged gifts. The second meeting the chapter reorganized for the year as sisters were placed in new offices and committee assignments. The yardstick was completed marking the Xi Eta Lambda as a three- star chapter. Preparations for the 25th Fulton Fair Queen Pageant have begun.
Those activities include finding contestants and judges, soliciting businesses for prizes, planning the decorations for the tea and the stage, and making arrangements for entertainment during the tabulation of the scores as well as publicity with The Fulton County News for the pageant.
