Fulton County chapter of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau is conducting a poster and essay contest using the theme “Safe Ears=Happy Ears.” Age groups for poster submissions include: 8 years and under; 9 to 12 years old; and 13- to 15-years-old. The essay contest is open to children between 16 and 18 years old. Prizes will be awarded to the winner of each category. The winners at the county level will be forwarded to the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau for entry into the state competition.Requirements for each contest must be met. As a fundraising project for jail restoration, the Fulton County Historical Society is preparing a local cookbook. Anyone is invited to submit your most popular family recipes. There is no charge to enter recipes and you may later purchase cookbooks for $10 as gifts – a nice way to share favorite foods with friends and the larger Fulton County community. In order to have the finished cookbook ready for the annual Fulton Fall Folk Festival in October, all recipes need to be submitted by July 15. Submit recipes in handwriting and mail them to the Fulton County Historical Society, Box 115, McConnellsburg, PA 17233 or send recipes on e- mail to email@example.com, in which case they won’t need to be retyped with a chance of error.
Carwash Rehoboth New Life youth will be holding a carwash Saturday, June 25, beginning at 11 a.m. The youths will be accepting donations for the carwash and will also be selling baked goods. The church is located at 8323 Great Cove Road, Needmore, across from the firehall. Fair Queen Applications
