Larry G. Rutherford, 76, Hancock, died Saturday, June 11, 2011, at his home.

Born January 31, 1935, in Coalswood, W.Va., he was the son of the late Charles Howard and Martha Irene Phipps Rutherford, and widower of Mildred E. Wagg Rutherford.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He was of Protestant faith.

He was a retired heavy equipment operator working out of IUE Local 37, Baltimore, Md.

He is survived by three daughters: Brenda Turner, Hancock; Karen Pittman, Hagerstown, and Deb Ebersole, Big Cove Tannery; two sisters: Margaret Cox and Margie Anderson, both of Independence, Va.; two brothes: Howard Rutherford, Grassy Creek, N. C., and Robert Rutherford, Columbus, Miss.; seven grandchildren: Brian, Nathan, Jacob, Laurence, Tom, Chris and Scott; six great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
