The Fulton County Library’s Teen Advisory Board will hold a carwash and bake sale Saturday, June 18, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m, at Car Quest Auto Parts (formerly Thomas Chevrolet). Carwash donations and bake sale proceeds will help continue the funding of teen activities at the McConnellsburg library. Car Quest has graciously offered the use of its facility as well as making a very generous donation to the Teen Advisory Board.

Any teen who would like to help wash cars is welcome as are donations of baked goods for sale.

The Teen Advisory Board is funded soley through through its own fundraising efforts and donations. The board sponsors free teen programs at the library that are open to any interested teen. These events include monthly teen nights, an Easter egg hunt, T-shirt tie dying, the back-to-school bash and the upcoming June 24 end-of-school picnic and sleepover. Teens must preregister for the picnic and sleepover with Jamie Brambley, director of the library. Those under 18 need to turn in a permission slip available on the library’s Web site at fultoncountylibrary.org or by stopping at the library.

The picnic and sleepover will be held at the McConnellsburg library. Enter through the basement. Free, but food and drink donations are appreciated. All teens are welcome to participate. If you haven’t had the chance to come to a teen night, come check us out and bring your friends!

All teens are welcome to join the Teen Advisory Board. The board provides the librarian with suggestions for books, movies, music and magazine purchases for the teen section. Know what you want to borrow from the library? The library doesn’t have it? Then come make suggestions.
