Hustontown

Berkstresser

The weather for the weekend was just beautiful and a good chance for everyone to get out and enjoy it.

Our sympathy is extended to family, relatives and friends of Larry Houck, who was killed in a lawn mower accident on Saturday.

We send speedy recovery wishes to Dorothy Shotts, who is a patient again at Harrisburg Hospital. Hope she will be home soon.

Rheon Gelvin was able to return home a few days last week, but spent the weekend at Fulton County Medical Center and now is a patient at Harrisburg Hospital.

Kindred Spirits is planning an auction at Green Hill Sewing Club on Saturday, June 11, at 6 p.m. A covereddish meal will be served at 5 p.m. The auction is for the Tina Souders family. New and slighty used items may be dropped off the day of auction after 11 a.m. A donation of baked goods will be appreciated also.

Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will sponsor an open stage on Saturday, June 25, at 6 p. m. The kitchen opens at 5 p.m. Admission is free and the facility is smokefree, so why not come out and enjoy the evening with us. Everyone is also invited to come and share their talent or just come and enjoy the talent of others. We look forward to seeing you there, and bring a friend along for nice evening.

The Knobsville United Methodist Church will hold an ice cream festival on Saturday, June 18, at 4 p.m.

The family of Kate and the late Herbert Berkstresser and children will hold their family reunion on Sunday, June 19, at Forbes Road Lions Park. This includes the family folks from Needmore and Dott area. Meal time is 1 p.m. Come bring a covered dish or whatever and enjoy the afternoon with fellowship, food and horseshoe games, etc.

Household Hint: Flies are repelled by citrus, so scratch the peel of an orange and leave it out, hang a bundle of cloves, or keep a pot of fresh mint in the kitchen window.
