Anyone interested in helping young kids play soccer should join in for a referee training sponsored by the area referee administrator and Forbes Road AYSO. The training consists of an online session and a 2-3 hour field day to be held in late July or early August at the Forbes Road Lions Park. The FIDA, Fulton County Chamber of Commerce and Fulton County commissioners invite all to join in as they honor JLG Industries contributions to Fulton County. The event is being held Thursday, June 23, at McConnellsburg American Legion. Appetizers will be served at 5:30 p.m. Program and dinner begins at 6 p.m. A cash bar will be available. Tickets are available on a limited basis and may be purchased for $15 each at: McConnellsburg Tower Bank, McConnellsburg and Penn’s Village offices of F&M Trust and Fulton County Chamber of Commerce.

Free computer classes will be held Thursday, June 16, at Fulton County Library in the upstairs meeting room from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (Computer Basics) and from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (Internet Basics). Please call the library at 485-5327 or stop in to register.

Attention farmers: All are cordially invited to attend an informative field day to learn more about the benefits of rotational grazing, direct marketing, business planning and other ag-related topics to maximize the bottom line. The field day will be held on Friday, June 17, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at Lance and Carri Younker’s dairy farm, 829 Barnetts Run Road, Warfordsburg. Sponsored by the Fulton County Conservation District, the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Fulton County Penn State Cooperative Extension. Lunch will be provided. Applications for the 2011 Fulton County Fair Queen are available by calling 485-5137 and asking for Vickie or Susie. Applicants must be 16 years old, but not over 20 years old, as of June 1, 2011.

FOVA will be voting on a board of director at the next scheduled meeting July 6. All active VFW members should plan to attend.

Fulton County Library’s teens will hold a carwash and bake sale Saturday, June 18, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Car Quest Auto Parts (formerly Thomas Chevrolet). Carwash donations and bake sale proceeds will fund teen activities at the Fulton County Library.

Fulton County Hunter Trapper Education course will be held Thursday, June 23, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and Saturday, June 25, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Fulton County Pistol and Rifle Club. Bring a bag lunch for Saturday. This is the second of three traditional courses for Fulton County. Preregistration is required at PGC Web site at www.pgc.state.pa.us. Fulton County Veterans Affairs office will not be open Wednesday, June 22, due to a meeting gin Warren, Pa.

Submit your best Fulton County scenic photograph to the Fulton County Historical Society for possible inclusion in a 2012 calendar. Colorful photos for all seasons are needed. If selected, the photo will include the photographer’s name. Digital photos under 1 MB can be emailed to director@fultonhistory.org or printed photographs can be mailed to the Historical Society at Box 115, Mc- Connellsburg, PA 17233.
