Car Trying To Avoid Deer Hits Truck

KNOX, Pa. (AP) – Authorities in western Pennsylvania say a car swerving to avoid a deer went out of control and slid into the path of an oncoming tractor-trailer, killing both occupants of the car.

The Pittsburgh Post- Gazette says 35-year-old Clinton Stumpner and 49-yearold Barbara Stumpner of Emlenton were pronounced dead at the scene by the Clarion County coroner.

Officials said the two were heading east on Route 322 in Ashland Township on Friday evening when he swerved to avoid hitting a deer.
