3-Year-Old Girl Drowns In Pool At Private Pa. Club
NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa. (AP) – Police say a 3-yearold girl drowned at a private swimming club in eastern Pennsylvania.
Authorities arrived at St. Albans Swim and Tennis Club in Newtown Square just before 5 p.m. Saturday to find lifeguards performing CPR on the girl.
Newtown Township police Chief Dennis Anderson tells the Philadelphia Inquirer that the toddler died at Bryn Mawr Hospital.
The club closed the pool area while officers investigated. Anderson tells the newspaper that it’s unclear whom the girl was with at the time.
Employees at St. Albans declined to comment.
The club’s Web site says Saturday was the start of its summer season.
