John E. Greenfieldt
John E. Greenfieldt, 79, of McConnellsburg, Pa., died Friday, May 20, 2011, at his residence.
He was born in Mount Kisco, N.Y., on September 26, 1931, the son of the late John and Dorothy ( Barrell) Greenfieldt. He was the husband of Caroline (Buterbaugh) Greenfieldt, whom he married on December 26, 1953.
He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict, was a member of the Yorktown United Methodist Church, Yorktown, N.Y., the Cito United Methodist Church, McConnellsburg, the American Legion Post in Yorktown, N.Y., was past president of the Amawalk Hill Cemetery in Amawalk, N.Y. and had a career in education, culminating with being an executive director and owner of the Karafin School in Mount Kisco, N.Y.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by son John William Greenfieldt of Yorktown, N.Y.; daughter Renee L. Donow of Yorktown, N.Y.; grandchildren William H. Donow, Caitlin M. Moroney, James M. Greenfieldt, Samuel A. Donow and Nora M. Greenfieldt
Funeral services were held at Yorktown United Methodist Church, Yorktown, N.Y., at noon on Monday, May 23, 2011. Pastor Roy Grubbs officiated. Interment was at Amawalk Hill Cemetery, Amawalk, N.Y.
