Missing Teenage Couple Found Unharmed

CATASAUQUA, Pa. (AP) – Police in eastern Pennsylvania say a missing teenage couple who left suicide notes saying they were going to jump off a bridge have been found unharmed.

Catasauqua Police Chief Douglas Kish tells WFMZTV that the 16-year-olds have been taken to a hospital for observation.

According to The Morning Call of Allentown, Colonial Regional police say the teens were found walking along a bike trail in East Allen Township.

Police say the couple left notes at their Catasauqua homes Thursday night. Emergency officials began searching Friday morning, focusing on four bridges over the Lehigh River.

Police later called off their search of the river. They say they believe the teens were never in the water.
