Three Springs Fire Co. To Hold Carnival

The annual Three Springs Firemen and Lions Homecoming Carnival will be held in Three Springs beginning Thursday, May 26 through Sunday, May 29.

On Thursday, May 26, the 22nd annual firemen’s parade will begin at 7 p.m. The formation of the parade will be along Hudson Street next to Jan’s Family Restaurant. The parade route will be Hudson Street, starting at Jan’s and ending at the Three Springs swimming pool parking lot. Any person or group wishing to be a participant in the parade should call Rick Wilson at 814- 448- 3847 or George Harper at 814-448-3777. After the parade, entertainment will be provided by the Sugar Ridge Band and magic show by Hubie the Clown.

The Sharptones will provide a variety of music from the ’50s, ’60s, ’70s and ’80s from 7 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. on Friday, May 27.

On Saturday, May 28, the 19th annual car show will begin at 11 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. at the swimming pool parking lot. Music at the car show will be provided by DJ Tom Mitchell. Dash plaques will be given to the first 100 vehicles that register. Call Rick Walker at 814-448-3043 for more information.

A chicken barbecue will begin at 11 a.m. at the pavilion next to the Three Springs Firehall. A little league baseball tournament will begin at 10:30 a.m. At 3 p.m. the Little Miss Princess contest will begin at the tabernacle. The teenage fire queen contest will be held at 4 p.m. The Fabulous Flashbacks, a ’50s and ’60s band, will be the featured entertainment from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. On Sunday, May 29, a community worship service will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the tabernacle. A hot roast turkey dinner will be available immediately following the service.

Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the Three Springs Volunteer Fire Co. The Aughwick Band will perform a gospel music program from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. A firemen’s memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. The Aughwick Band will play after the service until 9 p.m.

Ride tickets will be available nightly. Armbands will be sold and honored from 6 p.m. until closing on Friday and Saturday evening. A different colored armband will be used each day. Armbands sold on Sunday will be good from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Rides are provided by Garbrick Amusements.
