Fulton Participate In

Championships

Southern Fulton and Mc- Connellsburg finished in fourth- and eighth-place, respectively last Tuesday after having participated in the Inter County Conference Championships.

Molly Lake picked up two fifth-place wins in the 200 and 400 meter for the Lady Indians, while teammate Amy Bard was first in the 400 meter; third in the 300 hurdles and 800 meter; and was a member of the fourth-place 1600 relay team comprised of Kelsie Truax, Lake and Jenna Hollenshead. Jenna Hollenshead went on to place fourth in the 800 meter, third in the 1600 meter and ran with Lacey Beatty, Mariah Hill and Macey Hollenshead for a third-place win in the 3200 relay. Macey Hollenshead was second in the 1600 meter, sixth in the 3200 meter, and fifth in the triple jump. Beatty placed second in the 3200 meter, and Truax picked up a pair of individual wins in the 100 hurdles (second) and 300 hurdles (fifth). Melanie Deneen and Cierra Covalt wrapped up the day with a fifth-place win in the 3200 meter and sixth-place victory in the 100 hurdles, respectively.

For McConnellsburg, Emily Watkins, Sarra Kendall, Olivia Mills and Tierra Lake combined for a sixthplace overall ranking in the 400 relay, while 1600 relay teammates Santana Ramsey, Libby Strayer, Nikki Fleming and Kendall placed fourth. Watkins added a sixth-place win in the javelin, and Strayer was fourth in the 400 meter. Fleming was second in the high jump, while Jessica Nero and Ramsey were fifth and sixth respectively in the pole vault.

Southern Fulton racked up a total of 11 first-place finishes last Thursday evening during a tri-meet with Mc- Connellsburg and Shade. The 3200 and 1600 relay teams were victorious for the Lady Indians, who also got top rankings from Amy Bard in the 100 meter, 200 meter and 400 meter. Kelsie Truax clinched a pair of wins in the 100 and 300 hurdles, and Macey and Jenna Hollenshead took respective wins in the 800 and 3200 meter. Crystal Appel finished out the tri-meet with a win in the shot put.

McConnellsburg’s Tierra Lake, Jessica Nero, Emily Watkins and Sarra Kendall grabbed a first-place win in the 400 meter, and Watkins went on to take the javelin as well. Santana Ramsey broke her own school record in the pole vault with a vault of 8-6, and the discus event was taken by Krista Daniels. Nikki Fleming and Olivia Mills added wins in the high jump and long jump.
