Northern Bedford 4

Forbes Road eked out a one-run win over Northern Bedford that represented the first win for the Cardinals in at least five years of competing against the Panthers. Casey Wade was awarded his first win of the season having totalled one strikeout, one walk, six hits and three earned runs. Wade and Kyle Schoen both had doubles for the Cardinals, and Wade, Donovan Bricker, Ryan Wade and Cody Cline all drove in runs.

Everett 15,

McConnellsburg 2

Everett racked up eight runs into the first inning of Saturday’s game and went on to easily overcome the McConnellsburg Spartans 15-2. In the Sideling Hill League loss, pitcher Evan Appleby completed one inning on the mound and totalled one walk, seven hits and six earned runs. Jesse Swope batted two-for-three, which included a double and an RBI. Dalton Garlock scored two runs for the Spartans.

Chestnut Ridge 10

Forbes Road had five runners cross homeplate in the seventh inning on Friday to squeak out a three-run Sideling Hill League victory over Chestnut Ridge. Brandon Blair allowed nine hits, three walks and four earned runs during the win and also went on to strike out three batters. Kyle Schoen and Ryan Hann both had three hits during the match, which included a triple for Hann and a pair of homers for Schoen.

McConnellsburg 0

Tussey Mountain squeezed out a one-run victory last Thursday against McConnellsburg before rolling to a much larger victory in game two of the Sideling Hill League double- header. Pitchers Seth Seville and Tanner Shoop took the loss, with Seville recording one strikeout, two walks, seven hits and six earned runs. Shoop finished out game two with two strikeouts, three walks, nine hits and seven earned runs. Darren McQuade and Caleb Christy both had doubles in the opener, and Christy finished the night with two hits.

Everett 6, Forbes Road 0

Dustin Sheffield, Brett Burger and Kyle Schoen each had a hit for the Forbes Road Cardinals last Thursday night during a 6-0 ousting at the hands of the Everett Warriors. Pitcher Casey Wade lasted six innings on the mound for the loss and totalled three strikeouts, five walks, seven hits and five earned runs.

Northern Bedford 15,

Southern Fulton 4

Four members of the Southern Fulton pitching squad took to the mound last Thursday evening, but it was Seth Hall who recorded his first loss of the year during the 15-4 defeat to Northern Bedford. Hall opened the game on the mound and recorded one strikeout, three walks, six hits and three earned runs over three innings. Jake Fitz connected for a two-run homer, and Levi Mellott and Chad Gordon also drove in runs.

Fannett-Metal 10,

Forbes Road 7

Kyle Schoen led the Forbes Road Cardinals’ offensive effort last Tuesday connecting for a double and driving in three runners during a 10-7 loss to Fannett- Metal. Losing pitcher Tristan Gelvin lasted 5.2 innings and recorded five strikeouts, 17 hits and eight earned runs.

Chestnut Ridge 12,

McConnellsburg 2

The 10-run rule came into effect for the McConnellsburg Spartans, who lasted five innings against Chestnut Ridge last Tuesday. Levi Crouse produced a double and solo homer for the Spartans during the Sideling Hill League match. Seth Seville gave up five earned runs during an inning on the mound and took his third loss of the season.
