Raymond E. Craig
Raymond E. “ Butch” Craig, 71, Everett, died at home Tuesday, May 10, 2011.
He was born January 22, 1940, in Shippensburg, a son of the late Raymond and Laura (Brown) Craig.
On November 21, 1959, in Cumberland, Md., he married his wife of more than 50 years, Loretta E. (O’Neal) Craig, who passed away February 23, 2010.
Surviving are their children: Michael E. Craig and wife Lori A. (Clark) Craig, Everett; Mark A. Craig and wife, Angie M. ( Brown) Craig, Imler; Stuart L. Craig and wife Mia M. (Pittman) Craig, Clearville; Angela D. Cogan, marine city, Mich., and husband Eric Cogan, Clearville; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and four sisters; Judy Lynch, Shippensburg; Freda hepher, Chambersburg; Susan O’Neal and husband Allen O’Neal, Shippensburg; and Deborah O’Neal and husband Harley O’Neal, Everett.
In addition to his parents and wife, Loretta, he was preceded in death by a greatgranddaughter, Lexie Koontz; a grandson, Timothy Craig; and a sister, Betty Finkley.
Early in his lifetime, he began working gon a dairy farm in Shippensburg, later earning his position as a master painter, working in the Harrisburg, Gettysburg and Chambersburg areas for more than 10 years until moving to Everett to work as a delivery truck driver for the Earlston Planing Mill. He then worked as a welder for L.B. Foster co. in Wolfsburg, and for more than 30 years, was employed as a welder for JLG Industries in Mc- Connellsburg until retiring.
At home he enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on small engine equipment, especially lawn and garden tractors, and was a friendly and caring man who will be greatly missed for his wonderful sense of humor and kindness.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 14, at 1 p.m. at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Everett. Rev. Curtis Bryant officiated. Burial was made at Cherry Lane Cemetery.
