Man Pleads In Girlfriend’s Illegal Hunting Death
BELLEFONTE, Pa. (AP) – A Pennsylvania man has admitted he fatally shot his girlfriend during an illegal hunting outing.
Twenty-five-year-old Troy Tierney pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter Tuesday in the October 2009 death of 21-year-old Rachael Perryman.
Tierney claimed they were on a poaching excursion in a remote part of Centre County when he mistook Perryman for a deer and fired. She died of a gunshot wound to the chest.
District Attorney Stacy Parks Miller tells the Centre Daily Times she reached no sentencing agreement with Tierney in return for his plea. Miller says she will pursue a sentence including jail time.
