The Spartans swept a doubleheader April 25 from the Hyndman Hornets 15-0 and 21-1. Ethan Mellott, William Casher and Ryan Koontz combined for the two shutouts, allowing only three hits, while striking out eight. Mellott hit for the cycle, knocked in seven of the 15 runs and scored three runs in the first game. Taylor Souders (1-2, 3 runs), Travis Peck (1 run), Colton Strait (1-1, 2 runs), Nery Diffenderfer (1 run), William Casher (2 runs), Hunter Walls (1-1), Justin Welsh (1-1, 1 run), Cam Mellott (1 run), Justin Barnard (1-2), Quinton Miller (1 run) and Dylan Everts (1-1) contributed to the victory.
In the second game, the Spartans scored 21 runs on 12 hits and 10 walks. Taylor Souders, Justin Welsh, Ryan Koontz and Nery Diffenderfer had two hits apiece. Colton Strait, Ethan Mellott, Dylan Everts and Hunter Walls each added hits for the Spartans. Justin Welsh had five RBIs, while Ethan Mellott and Ryan Koontz each knocked in three runs in game two. Thirteen different team members scored runs in game two. The sweep was an outstanding team victory as 15 of the 17 eligible players either had a hit or scored a run in the sweep. The Spartans improved their record to 8-1 on the year.
McConnellsburg 16 Southern Fulton 2
The spartans won their seventh game in a row and improved their record to 9-1 April 29 with a 16-2 victory over Southern Fulton. Ethan Mellott (3 IP, 0 hits, 4 strikeouts), and William Casher (3 IP, 2 runs, 4 hits and 7 strikeouts) combined for the victory. The Spartans committed no errors defensively and continued their offensive attack.
William Casher and Ryan Koontz each had two hits. Casher added three RBIs.
