Fulton County Medical Center Rehabilitation Services Department is happy to announce the beginning its new Back Program. The Back Program will consist of a comprehensive evaluation of sitting and standing posture, lifting mechanics, strength, flexibility, and neuromuscular screening in order to establish each patient's problem areas. Each patient’s problem area will be addressed with a one-onone specialized treatment program tailored for them.

Treatment and education can include exercise, modalities, hands-on treatment, postural correction, work station assessments, and /or simulation of household and work activities. The Back Program will typically consist of treatment two to three times per week for two to four weeks and will require a doctor’s prescription.

If you have pain or want to find out how to better take care of your back, the Back Program may be appropriate for you. Rehabilitative services director, Shannon Showalter stated, “Our program is designed to treat causes of back pain not just the symptoms. We believe that by treating the underlying causes of back pain we can effectively provide longterm relief for our customers”
