Walnut Grove Church Road is now closed for bridge construction. A detour is in place until the completion of the project in the fall. Sunday morning services will continue to be held at the Walnut Grove Church. Some evening services have been moved to the community building.

Jen Ramsey hosted Easter dinner for Dusty and Lucy Ramsey of Franklinville, N.Y., Tom and Mamie Streightiff, and Kenny, Kristi and Jase Watkins.

John and Gail Young visited with Tom and Mamie Streightiff on Sunday.

Immanuel Bible Church will hold a spring rally roundup event on Sunday, May 1, beginning at 5:30 p.m. This year, the theme will be carnival style with games, prizes, food and fun for all. Kids of all ages and their families are welcome.

Get well wishes to Morghann Kelly, daughter of Kris and Shelly Kelly, who had surgery on Friday. Also get well wishes to Westdon, her little brother.

Buzz and Bea Covert hosted Easter dinner for Andy, Tasha, Shaine, Kean and Miah Goshorn, Fred and Sharon Horne, and Travis and Angela Madden.

Enjoying Easter dinner with Roger and Pat Ramsey were Terry and Trudy Fix, Charles, Linda and Casey McQuait, Brian, Emily and Micah Ramsey, Chad Ramsey and Craig, and Trisha, Alex and Mason Long.

Visiting this week with the Steve and Karen Grissinger family were Tracey and Tanner Fields, Donnie Horne, Buzz and Bea Covert, Tonya, Tristen and Ty Hall, Randy Anderson, Ramon Martin, Fred and Sharon Horne, John Hodge, Tom and Mamie Streightiff, Brent Carlson and Donna Locke.

Congratulations to Clay Cantrell, son of >John and Tammy Varner Cantrell, on passing his military entrance exam. We will all be praying for you and your parents on this journey.

Angel Wings will be sponsoring an all-you- can- eat ham potpie dinner to benefit Frank and Cindy Wagner’s daughter, Stephanie, and husband Justin, on Saturday April 30, from 4 to 7 p.m. Ea tin or takeouts will be available at Three Springs Firehall. Tickets are available at the Mini-Freez, Wakefield’s Auto Parts, Penn Central Physical Therapy or from Dodie Price, Deb Snyder, Ruth Toulson and Brenda Williams.

A very special thank-you to Three Springs Volunteer Fire Co. for donating the use of the firehall for the benefit!

Cole, Jayla, Jenny, Clay and Tammy Cantrell enjoyed a pizza party and potpie making with Ruth Grissinger on Friday. Lots of laughter, hugs and memories were shared while their dad, John, was busy working.

There will be a benefit ride, both motorcycles and cars, for Dennis Cisney, Fred Cisney and Larry Parsons on May 7. Please contact Carolyn at Sandy Ridge Market to sign up and for more details.

There have been some busy mushroom hunters since the sunshine finally arrived. So far, I have only found the black ones and one yellow. With the wet spring, there should be lots to find for everyone.

Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will be sponsoring its annual Mother’s Day buffet on Sunday, May 8 beginning at 11 a.m. A large variety of foods will be featured including eight meat dishes.

Angel Wings will sponsor a benefit ride and pig roast on Saturday, June 11, at Harper’s Memorial Park, with bikes leaving promptly at noon. The cost is $25 per bike, with an early registration drawing for a gas card. Event is open to everyone beginning at 4:30 p.m. for a cost of $10 per person. Please contact Dodie Price for registration at 814-386-0594. All proceeds from the day will benefit Justin and Stephanie Semple.

A demolition derby will be held on June 4 at 2 p.m. to benefit the Shade Gap Volunteer Fire Co. Flyers with more details will follow. If you have any questions, give Travis Kling a call.

Three Springs Volunteer Fire Co. will have a roast beef dinner on Sunday, May 15, beginning at 11 a.m.

Mother’s Day will be arriving on May 8. Happy Mother’s Day to all!
