The weather was really nice so we could celebrate the special Easter occasion of a Risen Savior.

A nice crowd attended the sunrise service at Clear Ridge United Methodist Church. The Clear Ridge folks served a very nice breakfast following service.

The Kindred Spirits will sponsor a benefit auction of a variety of items including baked goods on Saturday, April 30 at 6 p.m. A covered dish will begin at 5 p.m. at Green Hill Sewing Club. The benefit auction is being held to help Alton Reffner, who is suffering from heart disease. Donations of slighty used items or new will be greatly appreciated for such a worthy cause.

A rummage sale and bake sale will be held at Knobsville United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 30, at 8 a.m.

Hustontown Fire co. will sponsor its annual Mother’s Day buffet on Sunday, May 8, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. featuring eight meats, variety of vegetables, salads, desserts and beverages. Price is adults $10; children 5-10, $5; and under 5 years old are free. Treat that special someone to a great meal.

Hustontown Fire Co. will sponsor a food auction on Friday, May 13, at 5 p.m. The kitchen opens at 4 p.m. New vendor Mike Sullivan will be bringing fresh meats, lunch meats, frozen pork, chicken, pizza, desserts, snack foods, cereals, dry goods, laundry detergent and much more. A good place to spend the evening, so you don’t want to miss this one.

Household Hint: To remove a musty odor, sprinkle a hard basement floor with chlorinated lime (bleaching powder). Once the odor is gone, sweep the powder into a plastic bag, tie and dispose of it. Avoid contact with skin.
