Trailer With $200K In Copper Stolen In Pa.

CARLISLE, Pa. (AP) – Authorities say someone stole a tractor-trailer carrying copper plates worth $200,000 from a central Pennsylvania truck stop.

Middlesex Township police say the truck was stolen April 9 in Cumberland County. The cab was found later at a nearby hotel but the trailer carrying more than 44,000 pounds of copper plates was gone.

Police say a witness saw a man pull the trailer-less truck behind the motel and flee toward Interstate 81, where he was picked up by a minivan.

Authorities say the missing trailer’s license plate is PT2916R.
