PA School Bus Driver Dead In Crash
TREXLERTOWN, Pa. (AP) – Officials say a school bus driver is dead after she crashed into a Pennsylvania municipal building and was ejected from the vehicle.
The Berks Lehigh Regional Police Department says the driver was found on the ground near the rear of the bus after it crashed into the Upper Macungie Township municipal building on Monday morning.
Parkland School District officials identified the driver as 42- year-old Kelly Smith, of Washington Township, Lehigh County. The district says a medical issue may have caused the crash.
Police say the bus had veered into oncoming traffic, sideswiped another vehicle and went up an embankment before crashing through an exterior wall of the building. No students were on board and no injuries were reported inside the building.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
