The winning glee club of the 1931 contest in Fulton County, that of the Warfordsburg High School, is pictured on the front page of this issue. Members of this singing group are Ruth Covalt, Florence Peck,Thelma Maye, Ruby Crist, Martina Deneen, Louise Layton, Helen Truax, Ruth Morgret, Marike Charlton, Maxine Schriver, Maxine Hill, Juanita Wink, Sheridan Garland, Kenneth Hendershot, Wade McCray, Rolla Hess, Guy Ritz, Thurman O’Rourke, Lewis Deneen, Merrill Layton, Clyde Plessinger, Ralph Layton and Fred Charlton.

Deaths: Mrs. Ahimaaz Clevenger of McConnellsburg; Edward Hayes Richards of Ayr Township; Mrs. Mary Christena (Fischer) Spade of Marietta.

The highway improvement project between Warfordsburg and Needmore was started this week. The construction project between Hustontown and Waterfall is now being graded, and beginning this week motorists will detour to Waterfall by way of Gracey.

Pauline Wible of Knobsville, granddaughter of D.H. Wible, is a patient in Chambersburg Hospital.

Miss Flora Hess has returned to her home at Big Cove Tannery after being a patient in Chambersburg Hospital.
