The John M. Spangler Scholarship has been awarded this year to Audrey Glee, McConnellsburg

High School senior.

Foster Ambrose, widely known as a trapper and hunter, last weekend trapped a lynx – commonly known as a wildcat or bobcat – at the Woodmont Rod and Gun Club. The wild animal is now on display in a steel cage at Ambrose’s Game Farm near McConnellsburg. Ambrose has been on the trail of this particular cat for over a year.

Bob Chester is the next “name” band at the local Legion home, appearing there tonight.

Births: a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Jack Morton of Big Cove Tannery on April 25; a son to Mr. and Mrs. Albert Foster of McConnellsburg on April 30.

Mrs. Daniel Grissinger and Mrs. Gilbert Kindelan, both of McConnellsburg, have been named as Fulton County membership chairmen for the Chambersburg Community Concert Association.

Announcement has been made of the engagement of Louella Marshall to Pfc. Robert E. Buterbaugh.

Donnie Miller of the U.S. Navy is spending several days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Brown Miller of Hustontown.
