The First National Bank held its 75th anniversary with an open house last week. Visitors were treated to tours of the bank, memorabilia displays, free commemorative gifts and refreshments.

About 125 masons and members of their families from Fulton County attended Potentate H.J. Culler’s reception held at the Jaffa Mosque in Altoona on Saturday.

Many people watched the successful launching of the manned space shuttle, Columbia, from Camp Canaveral, Fla., on TV on Sunday morning.

Specials at the IGA: Betty Crocker cake mix, 69 cents; Philadelphia cream cheese, 79 cents; celery, 49 cents; cauliflower, 99 cents; Tide, $1.79, 49 ozs.

Now playing at the Fulton Theatre: “Flash Gordon.”

Births at the Medical Center: a son to Mr. and Mrs.William Bradley of Needmore on April 4; a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. James Hendershot of McConnellsburg on April 5; a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. James Weaver of Mercersburg on April 6; a son to Mr. and Mrs. Denny Bard of Fort Loudon on April 8; a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Terrance Ramsey of McConnellsburg on April 9.

Engagement: Mr. and Mrs. Donald B. Miller of Hustontown are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Kaye, to John H. Schwartz, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Schwartz of Littlestown.
